COMPETITION RESULTS

FIXTURES.

Owing to the prevailing inclement weather and the poor weather forecast for the weekend 22^nd and 23^rd January, it has been decided by the Committee to extend round 2 of the Comeragh Oil sponsored Winter League to include the weekend competition from Wednesday 26^th to the 30th January.

BAR AND RESTAURANT.

From 1^st February the Bar and Restaurant at West Waterford will be operated by a new franchisee. To facilitate a smooth changeover to the new operators all prizewinners in possession of vouchers for the restaurant are advised to redeem them as soon as possible. These vouchers will be no longer valid after the end of January.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

Subscriptions for the 2005 season are now due, we would like to thank those who have already paid for their prompt response, and request all members who haven’t paid to please submit the appropriate amount to the office, by post or in person at their earliest convenience.

TIMESHEETS

Time sheets apply for all club competitions. Please put up you’re name and those playing with you for your place on the Tee. Please remember: Players with their names on the timesheet have priority on the 1^st Tee.

Owing to increased playing numbers, the practice of putting down a name +1 or +2 is no longer acceptable. Only individual names will suffice as this facilitates the smooth running of the timesheet, by identifying who is actually booked in to play with whom.

DUNGARVAN GOLF TRIANGLE.

Golf tourism as we all know is now a big business in Ireland and the Dungarvan area is ideally placed to garner its share of this ever expanding market. A major selling point of our three courses, Dungarvan Golf Club, Gold Coast Golf Club and ourselves West Waterford Golf Club is that we are all within 10 minutes drive of Dungarvan town centre. The ‘Dungarvan Golf Triangle’ effectively, allows you to purchase a ticket that enables you to play each of the three courses, Monday to Friday for the combined price of €75, and in this era of high green fee rates, this represents good value. ‘The Dungarvan Golf Triangle’ is being advertised through all the usual mediums and is on sale in each of the three golf clubs.

CARE OF THE COURSE

Repairing of pitch/plug marks on greens, replacing of divots on tees and fairways and raking bunkers are all-important aspects of care of the course. It is also essential to use the bins provided for discarded soft drink containers and other waste items. Numerous visitors to our club in recent months have been complimentary on the quality and appearance of our golf course. It is in everyone's interest to keep it that way.
