The 2004 golfing season ended on Sunday with the Captains day scramble. Following a great turnout on the day all outstanding prizes were presented as follows:-

WLR fm LION’S CLUB CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL. (Kindly sponsored by Glanbia).

West Waterford Golf and Country Club are delighted to be associated again this year with this most worthy cause. This annual fundraising event is scheduled to take place this year on Thursday 16^th, Friday 17^th and Saturday 18^th December. As in previous years it will be an Open singles Stableford competition. We are urging all our members and friends and visitors from other clubs to support this event as they have done in previous years.

Wednesday 1^st December – Autumn/Winter Open Wednesday competition – Open 13-hole Stableford.

Friday 3^rd, Saturday 4^th and Sunday 5^th December - Club Competition, 16-hole Stableford

Brickey Golf Society

The Brickey Golf Society will hold their Christmas scramble West Waterford G.C. on Sunday 5^th December. Tee-off is at 10.15am.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS

The Annual General Meetings took place on Wednesday 24^th November. The golfing affairs of 2004 were discussed and brought to a successful conclusion and the officers and committees were put in place for 2005.

Club Honorary Secretary Maurice Hallahan presented an excellent summary of events for the 2004 golfing season. Outgoing Captain Michael Walsh extended grateful thanks to officers and committee members for their diligent work and support throughout the year, these comments were reiterated by incoming Captain John Flynn who looks forward to continuing the good work in the coming year.

Outgoing officers and committee members, President John Murphy, Captain Michael Walsh, Michael Landers and Honorary Treasurer Michael Cass were given special acknowledgment for their work in 4004. Retiring from the position of Honorary Treasurer after four busy years, Michael Cass handed over the club accounts in good order to the incoming Honorary Treasurer Ger Deegan.

This PRO would like to thank Secretary / Manager Tom Whelan for his help with the notes throughout the year and also to Aoife and Leanne in the office for their invaluable contribution.
