Open Wednesday Competitions.

Owing to the ongoing success of the Failte House Open Wednesday qualifiers, we are going to continue with an Open Wednesday competition from Wednesday last onwards. These competitions will be known as Autumn/Winter Open Wednesday competitions and commenced on Wednesday 20^th October following the Failte House Grand Final. The entry fee for visitors will be EUR20.00. Prizes will be awarded each and every Wednesday and will be dependent on the number of entries. This is hoped to maintain interest and impetus on the Wednesdays up to Christmas. A timesheet will be in operation on each and every Wednesday.

COMPETITION RESULTS

Friday 22^nd, Saturday 23^rd and Sunday 24^th October - Club Competition, 18-hole Stableford.

1^st: Michael O'Brien (14) 44pts.

2^nd: Brian McNamara (9) 39pts.

3^rd: Phil Kinsella (14) 39pts

CLUB SINGLES MATCHPLAY SPONSORED BY EAST CORK OIL

The final of the Club Singles Matchplay Competition kindly sponsored again this year by East Cork Oil was played out on Saturday. Former Killeagh hurling star Ger Scully playing off 16 and the up and coming young talent of David Curran playing off 9 contested the final. This was a classic case of youth versus experience with David who has been in tremendous form in recent weeks coming through to win. Well done to him and to Ger and also to all who took part throughout the Competition.
