COMPETITION RESULTS

OPEN QUALIFIER KINDLY SPONSORED BY FÁILTE HOUSE

The Grand Final of the Fáilte House Open qualifier took place on Sunday 17^th October last. Competition was fierce as all the qualifiers tried their utmost to lift the coveted title of Grand Final winner of 2004, which of course carries with it a five year exemption from qualifying in future Open qualifiers. This weekly competition generates huge interest year on year with this years being the most successful to date. The Open Qualifier is a keystone of the golfing calendar at West Waterford Golf and Country Club. The presentation of a fabulous array of prizes took place before a packed clubhouse on Sunday Evening. There were special prizes this year of 1 night’s bed and breakfast accommodation and a day’s golf for 2 persons for both the leading gross and nett qualifiers.

A sincere thank you to all our members and numerous visitors who have supported the Open Qualifier since last May, ensuring its tremendous success. We look forward to your continued support for our Autumn/Winter Open Wednesday competitions which commence on Wednesday 20^th October and which will continue until further notice. Timesheets will be in operation each and every Wednesday and prizes will be given each week and will be dependent on the number of entries.

FIXTURES

Open Wednesday Competitions

Owing to the ongoing success of the Failte House Open Wednesday qualifiers, we are going to continue with an Open Wednesday competition from Wednesday 20^th October onwards. These competitions will be known as Autumn/Winter Open Wednesday competitions and will commence on Wednesday 20^th October following the Failte House Grand Final. The entry fee for visitors will be EUR20.00. Prizes will be awarded each and every Wednesday and will be dependent on the number of entries. This is hoped to maintain interest and impetus on the Wednesdays up to Christmas, following the Failte House Grand Final. Further details on these Wednesday competitions will be printed in the notes and posted in the clubhouse in the near future, so watch this space!!!

Friday 22^nd, Saturday 23^rd and Sunday 24^th October - Club Competition, 18-hole Stableford.

Wednesday 27^th October – Autumn/Winter Open Wednesday competition – 18-hole Stableford.
