INTERMEDIATE SCRATCH CUP
The Intermediate Scratch Cup, which was kindly, sponsored by The Moorings Bar and Restaurant took place on Sunday 19th September. It was an 18-hole Stroke event with a handicap range of 12 to 18.
1st: Fintan Gee (15) 78.
2nd: Peter Foley (14) 82.
3rd: John Keane (14) 83.
Best nett: Eddie Fogarty (15) 68
Congratulations.
Niall Parks joins that minority group who have achieved the most elusive score in golf…The Hole-in-One. Niall got his on the 4th on Sunday, well done.

Ray Cup Spratt Singles Matchplay Final.
It was down to the wire with this important event for the juniors. Kieran Gee beat Cian Kearney on the 18th well done to both players and all who took part.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS
CLUB CLASSIC KINDLY SPONSORED BY THE DIPLOMAT (MICHAEL RYAN)
The annual fundraising Open Club Classic will take place on Sunday 10th October. This important fundraiser for the Club helps in the running of Club teams and supporting the junior section and all members are urged to bring along two golfers from visiting clubs for this open 3 person event. The Club Classic is being kindly sponsored this year by Michael Ryan and The Diplomat Bar in Abbeyside and the Club are very appreciative of his support as Michael and his company Saltan Properties also sponsor the Golfer of the Year for which there are super prizes up for grabs, thanks to his sponsorship. Teams of three for the Classic may be gents, ladies or mixed. The format is 1 to count on the first six holes, 2 to count on the next 9 holes and all three to count on 16, 17 and 18. Tee times may be reserved by telephoning West Waterford on 058-43216 or 058-41475.
LOYALTY CARD
The Irish Golf Course Owners Association has in place a loyalty card, which entitles full members of participating Clubs to avail of a 25% discount on green fees for the cardholder, and 3 other golfers at selected courses. The loyalty cards are available from the office at West Waterford Golf and Country Club for a nominal charge and will enable members of West Waterford to enjoy a significant reduction in fees at courses such as: Beaufort, Esker Hills, Glasson, Powerscourt, St Helen’s Bay, Knockanally, Rathsallagh and many more.
CONDOLENCES
Our sincere condolences go out to our hard working handicap secretary Michael O’Dwyer whose sister passed away on Friday last. We also extend our sympathy to club member Jim Meaney on the death of his mother.
