OPEN SENIORS

The Annual Open Seniors competition took place on Thursday last 2^nd September and was kindly sponsored this year by Guinness. It was an 18-hole Stableford event with three categories of prizes as follows: Category A- 60-64, Category B 65-69 and Category C 70+.

JACK LYNCH MEMORIAL TROPHY

Congratulations to Gold Coast on their great win on Monday last in this annual get together of friendly rivalry between the 3 local Clubs. Vice-Captain John Flynn had put in a Trojan effort in the preparation of his team but overall success was to elude John and his team by just 2 points. A big thanks you to John and all his players and also to the players and managers from Gold Coast and Dungarvan for a most sporting contest. A big thanks to sponsor Johnny Lynch and the Parrish Bar. Johnny was unavoidably detained elsewhere on the night, talent spotting for his establishment, we hear!

The Club Mixed Foursomes is now down for decision between Edward Hickey and Joan Sheehan advancing to play Michael Landers and Joan Curran in the final in what promises to be a pulsating encounter with the latter pair installed as slight favorites.

It takes place on Sunday 19^th September and is an 18-hole stroke event with a handicap range of 12 to 18. The Captains Prize for the Brickey Golf Society will be held at Thurles Golf Club on Friday 10^Th September. Tee-off: 1:30 PM.
