PRESIDENT’S PRIZE 2004 KINDLY PRESENTED BY JOHN MURPHY

The undoubted highlight of last weekend was the President’s Prize for 2004 kindly presented by John Murphy. The final 18-hole holes of Stableford took place on Sunday, having been deferred from Sunday 22^nd owing to the inclement weather and was played off the white markers. The big question was whether the delay would effect the clear first day leader, Pat Landers in his quest for another "major" or whether some of the big guns lurking in the chasing pack would swoop to conquer.

The timesheet is now almost full our Annual Open Seniors competition, which takes place on Thursday 2^nd September and is being kindly sponsored this year by Guinness. It is an 18-hole Stableford event with three categories of prizes as follows: Category A- 60-64, Category B 65-69 and Category C 70+. The Club Mixed Foursomes is now down for decision between Edward Hickey and Joan Sheehan advancing to play Michael Landers and Joan Curran in the final in what promises to be a pulsating encounter with the latter pair installed as slight favorites.

INTERMEDIATE SCRATCH CUP

The timesheet is now posted for our Intermediate Scratch Cup, which is kindly sponsored by Jim Quinn, Agri Supplies, Dungarvan. It takes place on Sunday 19^th September and is an 18-hole stroke event with a handicap range of 12 to 18.
