Barton Shield

After a gallant effort our team had to give best to Cahir Park in Tramore on Sunday 9th May. Thanks to all players and Ray Spratt and also to Tramore Golf Club for their hospitality.

Time sheets apply for all club competitions. Please put up you’re name and those playing with you for your place on the Tee. SCRAMBLE, PRESENTATION OF PRIZES

The next Friday evening Scramble will take place on Friday evening 11th June. It is hoped to have scrambles on a monthly basis for the summer months on the first Friday of each month and all members are urged to try their utmost to play. A presentation of all outstanding prizes will take place on that Friday night also, and it is intended to stage outstanding prizegiving following the monthly scrambles in the future.

Anyone interested in participating in the Club Mixed Foursomes kindly sponsored by Pat Landers (Abbey Autos), is asked to place their name on the sheet currently posted in the clubhouse. The draw for the Club Mixed Foursomes is taking place on Thursday 20th May. All intending players are asked to place their name on the list and to place their entry fee of EUR 5 in the special envelopes provided. If a person does not pay the entry fee prior to the draw for partners on Thursday 20th May he or she will not be entered into the draw.

The draw for the Club Fourball is taking place on Thursday 27th May. DUNGARVAN GOLF INTERNATIONAL.

This prestigious event now in its sixth year takes place from 25th to the 27th May at our three local courses. Final meetings of the International Committee have been taking place and all the finishing touches and fine tuning required, to ensure the continued success of the event are being put in place. The International is a showcase event for golf in the area and brings an influx of visitors to the town and surrounding areas which is of benefit to all. The launch of the 2004 Classic is taking place together with an information meeting on Monday evening 24th at 9pm in the Gold Coast Golf Hotel. Members of the three local clubs are welcome at the nightly entertainment which is taking place at the Park Hotel and Clonea Strand Hotel.
