Gents Notes for week ending 22nd June 2008
Captains Prize 2008 kindly Presented by Malcolm Ashby
Preparations are well under way and there is an air of anticipation at West Waterford Golf and Country Club as we look forward to the first and premier ‘major’ of 2008. The timesheets are now posted for the Captain’s Prize kindly presented by Malcolm Ashby. The qualifying round of 18-hole stroke takes place on Friday and Saturday 27th and 28th June, with the leading 90 qualifiers completing again on Sunday 29th June over another 18 holes, with the aggregate score over the qualifying round and the final round determining the winner. The draw for playing partners and precise playing time takes place in the Clubhouse on Wednesday evening 25th June at 8pm. Malcolm is a staunch and hard-working Club member, and has done Trojan work in attempting to carry out numerous Club duties in his own inimitable way. He is a great supporter of all the Club teams, and I am sure all the members will be out in force to support him. Malcolm and Eithne have many family members and friends arriving for the weekend and we wish Malcolm and Eithne all the very best for this prestigious weekend at West Waterford Golf and Country Club. The presentation of prizes will take place in the Clubhouse on Sunday night 29th June and all members and friends are welcome for what promises to be a memorable night to round off the Captain’s weekend.
