Gents Notes for week ending 20th April 2008

AL Eile Stud Open Qualifier Series

The first Al Eile Stud Wednesday Open for 2008 took place on Wednesday 16th April. This weekly competition generates huge interest year on year, with this year’s event promising to be the most successful to date. This Open Qualifier is a keystone of the golfing calendar at West Waterford Golf and Country Club and Al Eile Stud is delighted to be associated with the event.

The competition takes place every Wednesday throughout the summer and this year to give the event added impetus there are 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes on offer each week (dependent on entries). There will be a timesheet in operation for the Open Singles and to reserve your tee-time, simply telephone the Clubhouse on 058-43216 or 058-41475. For those lucky enough to qualify the Grand Final will take place this year on Sunday 19th October, a week in advance of the Bank Holiday weekend. Many thanks to the sponsors Al Eile Stud.

Dungarvan Golf Triangle

A major selling point of our three courses, Dungarvan Golf Club, Gold Coast Golf Club and ourselves West Waterford Golf Club is that we are all within 5 minutes drive of Dungarvan town center. The “Dungarvan Golf Triangle” effectively, allows you to purchase a ticket that enables you to play each of the three courses, Monday to Friday for the combined price of €80, and in this era of high green fee rates, this represents good value. ‘The Dungarvan Golf Triangle’ is being advertised through all the usual mediums and is on sale in each of the three golf clubs. Tickets are valid up to 31st December 2008.

Deise Golf Pass

A reminder to all members that as a full member of the 10 participating Clubs you may avail of golf at any of the Clubs and receive a 25% discount off the published green fee rate (Monday to Friday, terms and conditions apply).
